Master Bathroom Ideas....

Hello friends!!  I hope your week is off to a great start!

This is a BUSY week for us....we have a lot going on at our church, we are working on our Master Bath Makeover, and we are frantically preparing for our daughters 2nd birthday party this coming Saturday.....whew.....I'm getting exhausted just talking about it all......LOL!!

BUT....life is good :)

SO......speaking of the Master Bath Makeover.....

We are getting into the fun stuff now....picking out all of the cool stuff!  I have to be honest though....it is a bit of a love / hate relationship for me.....it is fun picking stuff out, but it is also stressful.....in fact sometimes I think I get a bit paralyzed by being afraid that I won't pick out.....THE.....PERFECT.......THING.....and to be honest....it's kinda ridiculous.....but I am a bit of a perfectionist (on some things).....so I drive myself a little crazy sometimes......

Anyway.....since I'm SO determined to have the perfect thing.....I have to look at a lot of options.....

So......here's what I've been looking at for the tile in the bathroom....

I'm SO loving the glass tile right now!!  Sorry that the pics aren't better.....but it's the best I could do with the lighting, etc inside of Lowe's.....

And I've probably looked at about 50 others....ha....not really....but it seems like it!!

AND then there are the light fixtures.....who knew it would be SO hard to find bathroom light fixtures....I figured it would be easy, but the selection is pretty limited......so here are a few of the ones that I'm considering....

Decisions....decisions.....

Can't wait to share with you guys what we are going with.....and we've already done some tiling....it was our first time to do any tile work....so I'll have a lot of stuff to share on that.....

But for now.....I guess I better run.

Until next time....

Fab Finds Friday - I LOVE HomeGoods

Yahoo friends....it's FRIDAY!!  YAY!!

I haven't felt good today....so that's been a bit of a downer.....but I'm still happy that its Friday :)

We are making some serious progress on our Master Bathroom makeover today, so I am hoping that I will have something worth sharing SOON!  I can hardly wait!!

SO....you might be wondering what is taking so long.....well....it's mostly the fact that we just haven't been working on it.....yep.....that's pretty much it.....too many distractions......

You know....really important things.....things like going to HomeGoods and spending ridiculous amounts of time perusing all the awesome stuff they have......

Ha....Ha!  BUT seriously.....any of you guys who know me.....know that I do have a bit of an addiction to HomeGoods!  I mean seriously....THAT STORE ROCKS!!

So.....with such a great introduction.....I guess I need to back up my claims :)

SO...here is just a sampling of the Fabulous Finds from two of my recent trips to HomeGoods.....

I'll start with one of my favorites.....

OH....I.....LOVE....THIS.....CHAIR.....The fabric has such a great pattern....and those espresso legs......LOVE!!

And there were two of them!!  A pair!!  I wanted them SO much!!  BUT.....our rule at our house is that we are only allowed to buy things that we already have a place for in our house (and is within reason cost wise of course)......ugh.....darn.......

BUT......then today I realized that one of these lovelies might look great in our bathroom.....my sink has a place for a chair!!  Hmmmmm......now I want to go back right now and get it......ohhhhh......I hope they are still there tomorrow........

And while we are talking about chairs......look at these awesome Club Chairs I found.....

I think they are a faux leather, but they looked great in person......a gorgeous dark espresso brown color.....and again.....they had two of them!!  These will look gorgeous in someones house!!  We have some similar looking chairs in our front Living Area.....they are real leather......and they were WAY more expensive than these!!

I also love the lamp section.....they always have a great selection.....here are a few that I especially liked.......

Ok.....so seriously.....there were like seven lamps that I took pictures of......and I wanted to show them all.....BUT......if I showed everything this post would be way too long!!

So.....moving along.....

I found some great accessories too....

This glass jar looks very similar to the Pottery Barn Apothecary jars that easily sell for double or triple the price (sorry PB....I do love you....but not for double or triple the price).....

I also saw this......

A super cute little accessory for a swanky coffee table!!  I was in Vegas a few years ago with the Sis and we stayed at the Trump Hotel.....which was fabulous by the way.....and they had a little tic-tack-toe set just like this on the coffee table in the room.....

Ok....just a couple more accessories....

And then I saw this....again....I so wanted it.....

So modern.....love it.....so wish I had a place for it :)

They also have a great selection of luggage....Samsonite people....Samsonite!!  And for such great prices!!

I never buy luggage anywhere else....HomeGoods / Marshalls always have the best prices....by far.....

AND....here's a few more that I just couldn't leave out.....

And of course....I couldn't end without showing you a couple of the things that I bought.....

I got this cute little stool to go in our bathroom....I thought it would be a perfect little place to sit while our little one is having a bath....and you can store some pretty towels underneath.....

It just felt very spa-ish.....

AND.....of course.....I couldn't leave without these for my baby girl.....

Ahhhhh.....her first Michael Kors.....LOL!!

She is going to get these for her birthday :)  I can't wait to see how cute they look on those little feet!!

OK.....so....do you guys love HomeGoods?  Do you have one close to your house?  Ours is actually a Marshalls / HomeGoods......but it's ok.....they still have great stuff!!

Anyone have any amazing finds from HomeGoods?  I'd love to hear.....please do share!!

Until next time.....

P.S.  No - HomeGoods did not pay me or compensate me in any way for this post.....  :)

Life Interrupted - My Washing Machine is Sick :(

Well....friends.....it's Wednesday.....

And what a Wednesday it's been.....

Last night I decided I needed to do some laundry....mainly because my little girl was totally out of clothes.....isn't it amazing how such a small person can dirty up such a large amount of clothes?  I never cease to be amazed......

Anyhow....no problem....like most folks these days....we are used to being able to do laundry whenever we need to....

BUT....unfortunately.......when I went to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer the washer was still full with soapy water......ummmmmm......NOT GOOD!!  But I just figured that it had gotten out of balance or something, so I just started it up again and walked away.....

Well.....a while later....I went back to check again....and same thing....washer stopped.....and still full of soapy water.....

SO....being me.....I just repeated the previous step again......you know....just to give it one more try....but no luck!!

So.....what do I do......I call the Hubs.....who seriously can fix anything.....to get his input.....

And this morning.....I found my washer looking like this.....

OH MY GOSH!!  What in the world happened in there???

Well.....I'm not sure.....but the Hubs has been watching YouTube videos like crazy and has this washer broken into a lot of pieces....many of them now on my breakfast table.....

But....as you can see.....no luck yet.....it's still broken....

SO....today I made a trek down to my sister's house to do some laundry.....

SO.....on the positive side......we got to spend some time with my Sis this afternoon and she even went to dinner with us :)

On the not so good side....all I got done today was laundry.....and when I got home I still had to deal with this.....

Yep.....that's all my clean laundry.....I didn't have any baskets to bring it home in.....so.....my Sis gave me a bunch of Target / Wal-Mart sacks to use.....ha!!  Lovely isn't it!!

Oh well....at least my kid won't have to be the "stinky" kid tomorrow at Mother's Day Out.....she now has plenty of clean clothes!!

No worries really.....even with a broke washing machine.....life is good :)

I hope you all had a less eventful day.....

Until next time.....

Mealtime Monday - Skinny Ms Slowcooker Greek Chicken

Hello friends.....Happy Monday!!  I hope your week is off to a good start....things were a little rough around here today....mainly I woke up with a scratchy throat and some pain in my ears......ugh.....

So this morning was not great....I had SO much that I needed to get done while my daughter went to MDO.....but instead I came home and went back to bed.....ummmm.....not great.....I got NOTHING done!!  But I do feel some better this afternoon, so hopefully it was worth it.....

Well....in truth.....I did get one thing done.....and I'm SO excited to share.....there is something delicious cooking in my Crock Pot!!  Oh man.....it is smelling SO good!!  And since we've made it several times already.....I know it is going to be DELICIOUS too!  Oh yeah.....happy dance :)

Seriously.....I wish ya'll were here to smell it cooking....YUUUUUUMMMMMM!!

So....here's the skinny on a GREAT recipe for Greek Chicken.....

I got the recipe from an awesome website/FB page called Skinny Ms. Slow Cooker.....if you remember.....I've already shared their Balsamic Chicken recipe HERE and their Moroccan Chicken recipe HERE....

SO.....here's a pic of my dinner plate the last time we had Greek Chicken served over whole grain pasta.....

The chicken is SO tender coming out of the crock pot that it literally just falls apart.....so I took my fork and chopped up the chicken a little.....and then my plate looked like this.....

Ohhh....YUUUUMMM!!  SO Delicious!!  And....like most of the recipes that I share....SUPER EASY :)  Here's the details......copied from the Skinny Ms. Slow Cooker Facebook Page.....

Ingredients:
    1 Lemon, Juiced
    4 Garlic Cloves, Minced
    1/4 Cup Olive Oil
    1/2 Cup White Wine
    1/4 Cup Chicken Broth
    1 tsp Dill
    1 tsp Rosemary
    1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
    1/4 tsp Pepper
    1/2 tsp Salt
1 Whole Chicken, Broken into it's Respective Pieces

Directions:
Add all the ingredients with the exception of the chicken to the marinade.  Mix up well.  Add in the chicken and coat all the pieces completely.  Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 6 hours.
Serve over noodles with sauce from the slow cooker spooned over the noodles and a little feta and olives for good measure.

SO.....we used boneless skinless chicken breast instead of the whole chicken.....and we don't use the feta cheese or olives (I don't like either one)......but otherwise I follow the recipe completely.....

And here are a few pics of the recipe coming together.....

The ingredients.....

The "marinade" all mixed up.....

And everything put into the slow cooker.....

Let it cook and then when its almost finished cook up a little whole grain pasta......

And soon....you'll have this.....

I can't wait for dinner tonight!!  This is such a rich tasting dish.....as the Hubs says......it tastes "fancy"....

So....if your looking for something new to try for dinner.....you should give this baby a try....I don't think you will be disappointed :)  And I would love to hear what you think about it.....

Until next time.....
